Manhattan Catholic Child Care Center is a Kansas Department of Health and Environment State Licensed child care facility. We are licensed for a total of 51 children ages 3-12 years.
Our childcare classroom is licensed for 20 children, ages 3- 5, for childcare before or after preschool class. Our operating hours are 7:15 am -5:30 pm. All-day childcare includes lunch, snack, two recess periods, naptime, playtime, and educational enhancement of the Preschool curriculum. Our staff to child ratio is 1:12. We are part of Raising Riley for families needing financial assistance. This assistance is only applied to childcare tuition, each child must be enrolled in childcare for 35 hours a week or more. After School Program
Manhattan Catholic Schools helps working families by providing an excellent, onsite After School Program. Students between grades K- age 12 are able to attend ASP in two State licensed classrooms. The Computer lab is licensed for 12 children and the School Library is licensed for 19 children. Our staff to child ratio is 1:14. All of our qualified staff lead each classroom with age-appropriate activities. Students also receive a snack, have a homework period, outdoor gross motor and have developmentally appropriate selected activities provided for the students. The after-school program is enriched with activities offered through community outreach programs and field trips.
All students must be picked up by 5:30 p.m. ASP tuition is $180/mo. If you would like more information about our After School Program, please contact the Program Director.
Our Program Director must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Development or related field. They must obtain Director Approval through Child Care Licensing and KDHE. All of our childcare and ASP staff must have a background in working with children and complete annual training in childhood development, behavior, developmentally appropriate practice, and classroom management. All staff must submit KBI/FBI fingerprint background clearances to KDHE. Licensing prohibits us from employing any people who have convictions of child abuse, child neglect, or most forms of assault. All staff undergoes Tuberculosis skin tests and health physicals. Our staff is also required to complete training in First Aid, Infant/Child CPR, Child Abuse and Neglect, Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases, Child Development training, and more.
