Little Cardinals Preschool

Little Cardinals Preschool Program
The Little Cardinals Preschool Program provides a warm, welcoming, and faith-filled environment where children are encouraged to thrive, develop, and grow a lifelong love of learning. Our program is designed to help each child learn and grow in a caring community centered on Catholic values, while providing meaningful academic and hands-on learning experiences.
We believe children learn best when they are engaged, encouraged, and given opportunities to explore. Our developmentally appropriate curriculum supports growth in all areas of development, including religious, cognitive, language, physical, emotional, and creative development. Through a safe and nurturing environment, children experience a wide variety of hands-on learning opportunities that inspire curiosity, build confidence, encourage independence, and foster a lifelong love of learning.
Our dedicated teachers embrace each child as a unique individual and strive to create a classroom community where every child feels known, valued, supported, and excited to learn.
Eligibility
Our preschool program consists of three classrooms serving children ages 3–5.
- Children must be 3 years old to enroll.
- Children must be fully potty-trained in order to attend. This means children must be able to communicate to a teacher when they need to use the restroom, use the toilet independently (including wiping themselves without assistance), and independently manage their clothing by pulling their underwear and pants down and up.
- As a childcare center licensed through the Kansas Office of Early Childhood (KOEC), all required documents must be completed correctly and on file before a child’s first day of attendance.
-
Our program follows a unique enrollment process compared to many child care programs. August is when we typically have the greatest number of openings for new students. However, our pre-enrollment process begins in early spring for families interested in an August start date.
To learn more about current and upcoming openings, please contact Program Director Anna Bonilla at 785-565-5050 or abonilla@manhattancatholicschools.org.

We offer several enrollment options designed to meet the needs of our families. Beginning in August 2024, our preschool enrollment options were restructured to provide families with greater flexibility. We strive to maintain small class sizes to provide children with a nurturing environment that complements the elementary school setting.
Option 1: Full-Day Preschool
Our Full-Day Preschool program offers two classrooms with hours of operation from 7:15 a.m. to 5:45 p.m.
-
3–4-Year-Old Classroom: Designed for children who will attend two years of preschool before beginning kindergarten.
-
4–5-Year-Old Classroom: Designed for children who will attend one year of preschool before beginning kindergarten.
Option 2: School-Day Preschool
Our School-Day Preschool option is designed for families who do not need full-day care and prefer for their child to attend preschool during the regular elementary school day.
This program follows the MCS Academic Calendar, including the elementary school’s start and dismissal times. Students enrolled in this option will not attend on days when MCS is closed.
The School-Day Preschool option is designed for children who will attend one year of preschool before beginning kindergarten.
Families may choose from three enrollment schedules:
- Monday – Friday
- Monday, Wednesday, and Friday
- Tuesday and Thursday
