Cardinals Club

The goal of the Cardinals Club is to provide MCS families with children who are enrolled in or have completed kindergarten through age 12 with convenient, year-round care through our After School Program and Summer Program. Both programs are designed to meet the needs of working families offereing a safe and engaging environment where children can have fun. We have two licensed classrooms and maintain a 1:16 staff-to-student ratio as defined by the Kansas Office of Early Childhood (KOEC).

Children will be transported in our 14-passenger school buses, driven by trained program staff. Staff members must complete a Health Assessment and the driving curriculum required by the Salina Diocese for transporting children before they are permitted to drive. For out-of-town trips, we will use USD 383 buses when available.

After School Program

The Cardinals After School Program (ASP) offers a structured yet relaxed environment where students can unwind, complete homework, and participate in meaningful activities following the school day.

The After School Program is available during the academic school year for students attending Manhattan Catholic School. Care is provided Monday through Friday from school dismissal until 5:45 p.m.

Each afternoon includes:

A snack upon arrival
Dedicated time for completing homework
Opportunities for independent play and activities
Outdoor play and activities, weather permitting

Full-Day Care

Full-day care is also available on select days when school is not in session. Full-day care hours are 7:15 a.m.–5:45 p.m.

On full-day care days, students should bring a sack lunch, as the school cafeteria will be closed.

If field trips or other off-site activities are scheduled throughout the year, parents will be required to complete a permission form before their child may participate. Any activity fees associated with scheduled trips will be included in tuition.

Program Schedule

The After School Program does not operate during Spring Break or on other major holidays and holy days. A calendar outlining the dates care will be provided will be distributed to families before the beginning of each academic school year.

Enrollment in the After School Program is limited to students attending Manhattan Catholic School.

Registration Fee: $75 (non-refundable)
Deposit: $350 (non-refundable)
Fall Semester Fee: $950
Spring Semester Fee: $950

Cardinals Summer Program

The Cardinals Summer Program provides a fun, engaging, and enriching summer experience for school-aged children. Our goal is to give children opportunities to make friends, explore their interests, and enjoy a variety of indoor and outdoor activities throughout the summer.

Summer Activities

Throughout the summer, children will participate in a variety of activities and experiences. Activities may include:

Swimming at local pools
Trips to Sunset Zoo, Topeka Zoo, and Rolling Hills Zoo
Movies at the theater, depending on summer movie releases
Visits to the Flint Hills Discovery Center, K-State Beach Museum of Art, and Topeka Discovery Center
Trips to local parks and trails

Summer Meals

In recent years, we have participated in the free summer meal program offered through USD 383. We plan to continue participating in this program for as long as it is available.

Enrollment in the Summer Program is open to families currently enrolled in the After School Program, as well as families throughout the Manhattan community.
